do I become a Certified Wedding Coordinator?
-
Where
can I find employment after Certification?
-
Will
my WPIC Certification be recognized within the
Wedding Industry and ISES (International Special
Events Society)?
-
Why
is a WPIC Certification better than an 3-8 month
Correspondence Certification?
-
I
have my Event and Meeting Management Certificate,
would this course be redundant for me ?
-
When
is WPIC coming to my area?

WPIC
is the first and only in-class Wedding Coordinator's
Certification Institute in Canada. The only
way to become a Canadian Certified Wedding
Coordinator is to take our course. The course
consists of Home-study, group work, lecture and
Industry-related guest speakers. Students are
graded based on their participation in class,
success on 3 tests and a final exam.

 |
Our
past students have opened their own full and
part-time businesses, or found employment with
Catering Companies, Resorts, Banquet Halls, Golf and
Country Clubs and Bridal salons. Anywhere that
specializes in Weddings appreciates having a
Canadian Certified Wedding Coordinator on staff.
You
can find our Alumni at:
The

Seasons (Toronto), Edmonton Weddings/Event

Yes,
definitely. WPIC has received a lot of Media
attention and is the only way to get your Wedding
Coordinator's Certification in Canada. Also,
the instructors are well known and respected within
the Wedding Industry. Danielle owns and Tracey
manages the largest Wedding Coordination Firm in
Canada, "The
Wedding Planners".
The
Wedding Planners Institute of Canada was awarded its
Master License to operate from the Government of
Canada and is subject to the rules and regulations
of the Private Career Colleges Act of each Province. Back

It
sounds strange but our course is much better than
the "8 month" correspondence course.
We know this because that was the only option
available to Tracey and Danielle, and that is how
they got their certification. The
correspondence course isn't actually 8 months, that
is the maximum amount of time you have to complete
it. They send you a manual, which both Tracey
and Danielle completed in a day and then there are
two projects to complete. Some courses also
send you a video tape on how to set up Head Tables.
Our
course is better in that our manual is much more
informative and extensive than our counterparts, as
well, you have in-class instruction on top of the
information in the manual. We lecture on topics not covered in
the manual, as well as giving you practical tools to
use on-the-job. For example: we give you
key-phrases to use in your Initial Meeting with a
potential client, tips on how to deal with
situations, etc. You are required to take
notes and we also have a lot of helpful
handouts. So in actuality you are getting 20
hours of instruction plus the manual, industry
speakers, sometimes a site visit and unlimited access to two
Professional Wedding Coordinators, a lifetime
membership to our Alumni Association of more
than 700 Certified Wedding Coordinators, where as with the
correspondence course you only get a manual.

No.
In fact, several of the Universities and Colleges
who offer Event and Meeting Management
Certification now strongly urge their students who
are interested in becoming Wedding Coordinators,
to take our course. Event and Meeting
Management is very different from Wedding
Coordination. One must be versed in the
differences between pricing, billing, psychology
of the clients, differing vendor relations, a
different code of ethics, etc.

WPIC
comes to a city when there is enough interest to
hold a class. If there is not a date
indicated under Locations,
the best way to gauge when we will be coming to
your city is to email
us.
